KEY 5- Resources To Support Teaching and Learning
Indicators
1. Computer hardware and software supplies are adequate for students and teachers.
2. Support services are adequate.
3. Space for instructional activities is adequate.
4. The school provides a safe environment for learning.
5. Academic resources are adequate.

The purpose of this section is to help staff, administrators, and members of the community analyze how they select and use resources. The assessment should be based on the impact that the resources have on student achievement. This process will help a school community make smarter decisions, particularly when using limited funds.

The activities in this section will help participants:

  1. Understand the KEYS indicators as they relate to the selection of resources.

  2. Identify the issues and barriers that aid or hinder the selection of the best resources.

  3. Create action steps for overcoming barriers and finding ways to enhance the selection of resources.

  4. Obtain a clear understanding of how to align the resource selection process with the school’s vision, communication patterns, assessment practices, staff development procedures, and the selection of curriculum and instruction processes.
