Decisions Facing Public Education - Who Decides

This workshop encourages participants to examine their knowledge of who really makes decisions that impact students, classrooms, and public schools, revealing who wields great behind-the-scenes power over public education and its funding. It provides a framework for why NEA members need to advocate for economic policies that invest in public education, create a fair and equitable tax system, and establish a level economic playing field for business in order to have adequate and equitable school funding and stop the growing economic inequality that is leaving so many behind. The workshop content is delivered using a pre-test carousel activity and a post-test debriefing.
