Formal Evaluation
Formal evaluation can be done either internally or externally. The former is less costly, but the latter generally holds more credibility.
Of course, formal evaluation may result in a conclusion that despite best efforts, the program is not worth further investment. Rather that incremental changes to meet higher goals, the school goes back to Steps 4 or 5 of the KEYS-CSI process.
This brief introduction to program evaluation uses the example of the establishment of a Parent Resource Center.
